Old Glory retired with full honors

During a solemn ceremony, representatives from American Legion Post 26 demonstrated the proper, dignified process to dispose of 400 worn, unserviceable U.S. flags.

Sometimes, burning a flag is the right thing to do.

A small crowd gathered Saturday at Carl Miller Park to observe a solemn ceremony to dispose of 400 worn American flags.

Hosted by American Legion Post No. 26, the Legionnaires met to "show everyone the proper, dignified way to dispose of unservicable flags," Post Commmander Rich McMahon said.
