MHHS principal says thanks

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Dear editor:

Commencement for the Class of 2010 was held on a chilly Friday, May 28, at Tiger Field.

Mountain Home High School would like to thank the community of Mountain Home for all their support this year. Not only did the community award those students with over $70,000 in local scholarships, it also supported all of our athletic and activity programs throughout the year, along with passing the recent supplemental levy to keep our schools intact.

In addition, I would like to thank Vicki Wise and Yard Creations for donating the shrubs to decorate the stage at graduation. Julie Vogl of Mulberry Place was kind enough to donate the pillars and archway that was used for graduation.

This community is great at supporting our students.

I would also like to thank Sam Cherry, Hans Kreutzer, Allen Harris, Jerry Zilisch, Mike Morrill, Mark Ahrens, Kenny Hill, Trent Daugherty, and Olga Morales for setting everything up and cleaning up afterward.

Also, I would like to thank the parents of the Class of 2010 for all their support this year.

You should be incredibly proud of the character and resolve that these students showed throughout the year.

I would also like to thank the Senior Celebration Committee for spending countless hours putting together the Senior Celebration party, where over 120 students celebrated graduation in a safe manner.

Finally, to the seniors--Thank You.

It has been my pleasure to work with you the past three years and I have enjoyed watching you grow into the great young adults you are today. The class of 2010 has served as an inspiration to me, along with many of our underclassmen. Thank you for all your efforts.

I hate to single students out, but I would especially like to thank ASB President Chelsea Jackson and Senior Class President Natalie Lasher for all your leadership and extra time you spent. You had the worst student council advisor ever, me, and you still made sure everything got done. Both of you and the rest of the student council were great to work with. I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Jeff Johnson, MHHS principal
