Persistent rain showers Sunday afternoon didn't dampen the enthusiasm of hundreds of motorcyclists that rolled across southern Idaho to raise money for military service members, veterans and their families.

Idaho Rolling Thunder, an inaugural charity ride, sought to raise money for The Wounded Warrior Project, Idaho National Guard and Reserve Family Support Fund as well as Operation Warmheart at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

As of Monday morning, the organization had already passed the $12,000 mark with money still coming in, said Bruce Wong, a spokesperson for the charity group. Organizers will equally distribute proceeds between these charities, each of which focuses on caring for military families across the state.

  • Thanks to all the Reserve Officers and COP's that helped make this happen. Your efforts made it a safe day for these folks in Elmore County!
