Hacker students say thanks for help in drive

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Dear editor:

I am writing to say thanks to the community for their help in the aluminum can drive that we held at Hacker Middle School. Due to all the hard work of students, staff and community members, we were able to collect 3,039 pounds of aluminum, which is enough for a family to spend seventy-two nights at the Ronald McDonald House. We hope that everyone in Mountain Home will be able to help us again next year.

Dear editor:

The kids at Hacker Middle School would like to thank the Mountain Home community for contributing in our Ronald McDonald House Aluminum Drive. Our original goal was 500 pounds, but after we passed that up, our goal became 950 pounds.

In the end, we got over 3,093 pounds!

Thank you, everyone, who helped out, including Shorty's Salvage, who matched us pound for pound!

Dear editor:

Hacker Middle School's aluminum drive over the past two months was a success! United Metals matched us pound for pound, so we donated 3,039 pounds to the Ronald McDonald House, which equals 72 nights for people who need it.

The team building classes would like to express our appreciation to the community for all your help. Thanks again, and start saving up for next year!
