Two injured in wreck that closes I-84

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Two people were taken by air ambulance from the scene of a single-car rollover at milepost 94.5 Thursday.

The accident occurred about 1 p.m. Authorities shut down the eastbound lane of I-84 for about an hour, traffic backing up for roughly two miles. The westbound lane was reduced to one lane of traffic as vehicles worked their way around emergency vehicles at the scene.

The small, compact car involved in the accident was eastbound when it went off the left-hand side of the road. It appeared to have flipped and then rolled down the median.

Both passengers, an elderly couple who have not been identified, were airlifted to a Boise hospital from the scene with serious injuries.

No further details were immediately available.
