Golfers struggle at Treasure Valley championships

The Mountain Home Tiger girls and boys golf teams found the competition fierce at the 5A/4A Treasure Valley Golf Championship Tournament at Falcon Crest Golf Course last Wednesday.

Middleton won the girls competition, shooting a 301 total over 18 holes. The Mountain Home Tigers finished 13th with a final team score of 408 to close out the day.

There were 14 complete teams competing in the girls' tournament.

Alicen Wendall led Mountain Home with a score of 93, which tied her for 33rd. Shelby Stevens and Melanie Bate both came in with a score of 100. Kelsey Egusquiza carded a 115.

The team from Eagle won the boys competition, shooting a 304 team score. the Mountain Home golfers placed 16th overall with a 368. There were 19 teams competing in the boys' tournament.

Brent Sexauer led the Mountain Home golfers with a score of 85. Stephen Elliott shot an 88, Zach Pomerantz came in with a 97 while Clint Butori carded a 98.
