Track teams finish second at BK

The Mountain Home Tiger track teams finished second behind Bishop Kelly in both the girls and boys competition Friday at Bishop Kelly.

Bishop Kelly won the girls competition with 82 points, Mountain Home was second with 73.75 and Weiser was third with 31.25.

Jasmyne Moore won the 100-meter high hurdles, was a member of the 4x200-meter relay team (along with Lauren Moore, McKenzie Sandberg and Jessica Liercke) that took first place, finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team (along with Lauren Moore, Chloe Baul and Jessica Liercke) that finished second.

Dakota Barrie won the 300-meter hurdles and finished second in the 100-meter high hurdles. Shelby Posey won the discus and finished second in the shot put.

Jessica Liercke won the triple jump and Mountain Home's medley relay team, made up of Ashley Harmon, Marissa Streeter, Lauren Moore and McKenzie Sandberg, also finished first. Kacee Cameron finished second in the triple jump and third in the long jump. Haley Schaefer finished second in the 400-meters.

Adrianna Callahan finished third in the high jump and Marissa Streeter was third in the triple jump. Shelbie Toenjes was fourth in the discus and Jordan Vivier was fourth in the 1600-meter run.

Bishop Kelly also won the boys competition. The Knights had 87.33 points, Mountain Home was second with 53.33 and Weiser had 45.33 points.

Tyree Harmon was Mountain Home's lone first-place winner. He won the 110-meter high hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and the triple jump. He was second in the long jump.

Alex Wing finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles and the high jump, and was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.

Devonte McClain finished second in the 800-meter run and was a member of the medley relay team (along with Robert Jackio, Luke Filipovich and Raif Armstrong) that finished second.

Jovanne Carrizales was second in the 3200-meter run.

Jeff Checketts was second in the shot put.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Juan Silva, Robert Jackio, Chaise Hopkins and J.T. Cristobal, and the 4x200-meter relay team of Silva, Tyler Knauth, Hopkins and Cristobal, both finished second.

Tyler Knauth was third in the 400-meters, Perry Savage was third in the pole vault and Jacob Perry was third in the discus.

J.T. Cristobal was fourth in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, Aaron Menhart was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles, Robert Jackio was fourth in the long jump and Clint Farmer and Colby Hall tied for fourth in the pole vault.

"I think we're at mid-season level for our athletes right now," said Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi. "We've finally had a little bit of decent weather, so our times kind of dropped a little bit and we had a few personal records."

The Tigers hosted a track meet yesterday with Bishop Kelly, Columbia, Middleton and Emmett. They will also send some of their top athletes to the Bandana Invitational at Mountain View on Friday and Saturday.
