Track squads finish first, third at Columbia

The Mountain Home Tiger girls track squad won another track meet, while the Tiger boys finished third at a meet March 23 at Columbia.

Mountain Home ran away form the six-team field in the girls competition, rolling up 179 points. Kuna was second with 108 points, Skyview was third with 82, a point ahead of Columbia, Nampa Christian finished fifth with 75 and Nampa was sixth with 28 points.

Dakota Barrie won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished second.

Meanwhile, Shelby Posey won the shot put and discus. Haley Schaefer won the 800-meter run, was also a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay and finished fourth in the 3,200-meter run.

Jessica Liercke and Jessica Tindall were both members of the winning 4x100- and 4x200-meter relay teams, and both had third-place finishes, Liercke in the 100 meters and Tindall in the 200-meters. Tindall was also a member of the 800-meter sprint medley relay team (along with Marissa Streeter, Lauren Moore and McKenzie Sandberg). Jasmyne Moore and Lauren Moore were also members of the winning 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays, and Jasmyne also had third-place finishes in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.

Jordan Vivier finished second in the 3,200-meter run, was also a member of the second-place 4x400-meter relay team, and was fifth in the 800-meter run.

Shelby Henrick was second in the 200-meter dash, a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished second, and she finished fourth in the 400-meters.

Keesha Janis was second in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Natasha Feekes finished third in the high jump, and Leann James was third in the discus.

The Mountain Home 4x400-meter relay team, made up of Chloe Baul, McKenzie Sandberg, Marissa Streeter and Chelsea Bacon, also finished third. Kacee Cameron had a fourth-place finish in the long jump and was fifth in the triple jump.

The Mountain Home 800-meter spring medley relay team of Danielle Perkins, Ashley Harmon, Chloe Baul and Vanessa Estrella finished fourth.

Sixth-place efforts went to Ashley Harmon in the 100-meters, Christina Segovia in the pole vault and Cheyenne Castillo in the shot put.

Kuna won the boys competition with 121.5 points, Nampa was second with 109, Mountain Home was third with 96, Skyview had 93.5, Columbia 77 and Nampa Christian 57.

Tyree Harmon was Mountain Home's big winner, winning the 110-meter hurdles, the long jump and triple jump, and finishing second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Jovanne Carrizales finished second in the 3200-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run.

Jake Lewis finished third in the shot put and fourth in the discus while Alexander Ling had a third-place effort in the 110-meter hurdles.

The 1,600-meter sprint medley relay team of Luke Filipovich, Robert Jackio, Ricky Castillo and Devonte McClain finished third.

J.T. Cristobal had a fourth-place finish in the 100-meters and was also a member of the 4x200-meter relay team (along with Ricky Castillo, Tyler Knauth and Chaise Hopkins) that finished fourth.

Fifth-place efforts went to Gavin Cline in the 800-meter run, Dylan Johnson in the 3,200-meter run, Clint Farmer in the pole vault, Anthony Lucas in the long jump, and the 4x400-meter relay team. made up of Ricky Castillo, Luke Filipovich, Devonte McClain and Tyler Knauth.

Sixth-place efforts went to Devonte McClain in the 800-meters, and Perry Savage in the pole vault.
