Keep WECRD's dream alive

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Dear editor:

A few years ago my leadership students at Mountain Home Junior High worked endlessly conducting multitudes of fundraisers to earn money to donate to the newly formed WECRD. Their dream was to help in their small way to provide an indoor recreational facility for future generations of children in our town. It was called the YMCA plan.

Their dream was simple with a clear vision about what Mountain Home needed most to keep kids busy when not in school.

I hope that WECRD will stop fighting, keep the intent of their seed money alive and move forward to find ways collectively to fulfill the dreams of thirty 14- and 15-year-old kids who had an unselfish desire to make our town a better place for kids to live.
