Stanley Fisher

Stanley B. Fisher, 91, of Mountain Home, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010.

At his direction, no services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Stan was born to Russell and Clara (Anderson) Fisher in Inkom, Idaho, on Dec. 18, 1918, the youngest of five children.

The Fishers were ranchers/farmers, formerly of Utah. They moved to Inkom, then Hollister, settling in Mountain Home in 1927. Stanley attended schools in Hollister and Mountain Home before beginning his own career farming and ranching. He worked with his father and brother Ray on their fatheršs ranch south of Mountain Home, raising sheep, cattle, and selling hay and grain.

He was an active member of the Mountain Home Irrigation District, up until his retirement in early 1982.

Although he never married, Stanley was a devoted uncle to his many nieces, nephews and their children. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed picnics, rodeos, fairs and outings with family members. A simple drive to get ice cream cones and "people watch" made him happy. He enjoyed all music, especially Johnny Cash, Ray Price and Roy Orbison. In later years, trips to Jackpot for any "special" occasion became a ritual.

Stan is survived by his sister-in-law, Esther Fisher, his nieces Sharlene Carrie, Janice Hines, Carolyn Wilson Judy Miller, Larea Reuter, Cheryl Rose and Betty Boyak ,and his nephews, Ron Fisher, Richard Fisher and Robert Janousek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ray, his three sisters, Ida Everett, Leah Denny and Tressie Spencer, his niece, Marlene Beck, and his nephew, Jimmy Everett.
