Petition deadline ends Friday

Filing petitions for local elections to appear on the May 25 primary election ballot may be turned into the county clerk's office until 5 p.m. this Friday, March 19.

A large number of local offices are facing election this year.

For county commissioner, the District 2 seat held by Larry Rose and the District 3 seat held by Connie Cruser, are up for election. The commissioners' positions are elected on a rotating basis for length of term. This election, the term for Rose's seat is four years and Cruser's seat is for two years.
