Sophomores struggle as their season begins

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomores picked up a win in their first three basketball games.

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomores dropped their first girls basketball game of the season, losing at Mountain View 37-16 on Nov. 13.

Mountain Home played the Lady Mavericks to a 4-4 score in the first quarter, but fell behind 14-7 at the half. It was 23-10 Mountain View, after three.

Alexis Berry and JaDene Palmer led Mountain Home with five points each. Kacee Cameron, Shannon Caldwell and Marissa Streeter each added two points.

Timberline 22

Mountain Home battled back from a first quarter deficit to edge Timberline 25-22 on Nov. 14 at home.

The Lady Tigers trailed 7-4 after a quarter but took a 13-12 lead into the locker room at halftime. They upped their lead to 20-16 after three and hung on for a 25-22 win.

Marissa Streeter led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 10 points. JaDene Palmer and Tessa Pachner both scored six points and Emilee Schetzle had three points.

Jerome 39

Mountain Home 27

Poor shooting in the third quarter proved to be Mountain Home's downfall when they dropped a 39-27 contest to Jerome on Nov. 17 in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

The game went back and fourth in the first half with Jerome leading 7-5 after a quarter and Mountain Home on top 17-16 at the half.

Mountain Home's only points in the third quarter came by Emma Wenger as Jerome built up a 29-19 lead heading into the final quarter.

Mountain Home went down by 15 points in the fourth quarter before cutting the deficit to 10. The final score was 39-27, Jerome.

Emma Wenger and Tessa Pachner both scored six points against Jerome. Alexis Berry and Marissa Streeter both scored four, JaDene Palmer added three and Kacee Cameron and Emilee Schetzle both had two points.
