Live nativity program slated

Monday, November 23, 2009
Dan and Pam Marchant meet Clyde the Camel (shown in this photo from last year's event). Clyde will be on hand to take part in the Dec. 6 live nativity event at the Dusty Rose Inn.

The Dusty Rose Inn will host a live nativity scene and nativity program on Dec. 6, beginning at 5 p.m.

It is the fourth year that Jen and John Sower, the owners of the bed and breakfast located at 815 N. 3rd East St. (also known historically as "the pink house"), have offered the special Christmas event, which is free to the public.

The live nativity will feature "Clyde the Camel," from Nampa.

The program will include a reading of the nativity story from the Gospel of Luke, the singing of Christmas carols and some fellowship over hot chocolate and cookies.

The theme of the event is "Warm Your Heart."

Seating is available for about 50 people and those attending are urged to dress warm.

To find the nativity scene, located at the back of the bed and breakfast lot, "just look for the star shining in the back yard," Jen Sower said.
