Daryl Page turned his outdoorsman skills into a job that saves lives.

It was a job Daryl Page never expected to one day fill. He was quite content honing his skills as an outdoorsmen and using those talents to find and rescue those in need.

Over the past 10 years, he watched his team of fledgling search and rescue volunteers grow into a fully operational unit complete with their own operations building, several vehicles and plenty of gear to perform their mission.

He never expected he'd one day lead the team with which he'd served for so long.

In September, Page took command of the Elmore County Search and Rescue team. He heads a group responsible for locating lost hunters, rescuing stranded cave explorers, treating injured hikers lost in Idaho's mountains and more.
