Hospital imposes flu restrictions

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

In light of the continued prevalence of H1N1 flu in the community, Elmore Medical Center has implemented precautionary steps to protect patients, visitors and staff from the flu.

Respiratory stations are being placed in the hospital and clinic front entrances. All visitors and patients who come into the facility with flu-like symptoms will be required to put on a mask and use hand sanitizer. Masks should cover both the mouth and nose when worn properly.

Beginning immediately, hospital visitors will be limited to two per patient. There will be no visitors allowed under the age of 14. Those restrictions also will apply to patients in the obstectrics department. Any visitor displaying flu-like symptoms will be asked not to visit until they are well.
