Joe McNeal, representing the Idaho Black History Museum, and library director Luise House put the finishing touches on the display honoring African-American Medal of Honor winners.

The Idaho Black History Museum's exhibit, "The Medal of Honor and Black Heroes," will be displayed at the Mountain Home Public Library, 790 N. 10th St., throughout the month of November.

The event is being sponsored by the museum and the Mountain Home Black History Committee.

"The Medal of Honor and Black Heroes" is an exhibit that traces the history of the Medal of Honor from the Civil War to more recent times, recounts the country's "checkered history in recognizing the heroic deeds of Black soldiers," and tells the stories of some of the "courageous men who, at long last, have received the Medal of Honor," organizers said in a prepared statement.
