Heroes, villains headline Halloween carnival

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Darth Vader, Ironman, GI Joe, Super Mario and Captain America, along with Transformers Bumblebee and Megatron, headlined the cast of costumed characters at the 32nd annual Super Safe Halloween Carnival at Hacker Middle School on Halloween night.

The event, organized by the Mountain Home Parks and Recreation Department, was a night that not only promoted fun but safety for children, keeping them off the streets.

The carnival was open to all children ages 0 to 14 years of age. The carnival included several game booths, face painting provided by the WECRD and both individual and group portraits provided by the Giving Tree for $5, with the bulk of the proceeds going back to that program.

Taking part in this year's carnival were volunteers from Richard McKenna Charter High School, WILD Idaho, the Elks Lodge of Mountain Home and the Mountain Home High School cheerleaders.
