Anyone seen this cowboy?

Having spent much of my life on the entertainment trail, I have spent most of it in the mountains, high desert, and plains. Making people laugh sharing and our cowboy life is a great way to make a living. In returning to my wandering ways as a working cowboy and avid hunter I hesitate to share some of the things I have encountered and seen. Being mindful that I never want to ever start any unsubstantiated rumors. I will however take a chance on sharing an experience for you to evaluate.

While riding the mountains just enjoying the beauty of nature I always study the tracks of who or what had traveled there before me. I clearly recognize all of the wildlife prints such as deer, elk, bear, moose, coyotes, and wolf. As I came upon a small clearing on a steep hillside covered in downfall I saw a footprint that was puzzling to me. It was somewhat like a barefoot human print only much larger. Whatever made this track must have been in the area recently due to the stench in the air. My horse was getting very nervous and fidgety. I took him back out of immediate area and tied him where he settled down. I then returned to the footprint and followed it into the dark pines.

I soon could not believe my eyes. Sitting on a log was a tall manlike figure making coffee. Now this did not make sense. It appeared to actually be one of the legendary big foot creatures, enjoying a campfire. The big foot was really quite friendly and invited me to have a cup with him.

We sat and visited for quite some time. We even sang some old cowboy songs he had learned while listening to the cowboys sing. All from a safe distance of course. He told of how he was not sure how others would greet him. He later said he would love to learn to play the guitar. I told him I had one in camp, so he followed me there. It took my horse quite some time not be afraid of him.

At my campsite I took out my old guitar. I showed him how to make three or four cords. He caught on so very quickly and was soon picking and singing like an old cowboy, only with a much better singing voice than many of us. We whiled away the hours picking and singing, and telling some of my best material.

When the morning sun began to rise I climbed out of my sleeping bag to find my horse, my guitar missing and some other stuff was missing. There was a nice thank you note stuck to a tree. Although his spelling was not real great the note read,

Tanks u fer the grub, th gitar an th hors. I tuk yur razr an shavd. I tuk sum of yur clos. I now thik I cn pul it off. It was signed , Yr frnd

So if you see a tall smelly cowboy with big hairy feet wearing pants that fit him kinda short, packing a guitar, riding a tall gray horse looking for work, please call me.
