Tiger football camp slated

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Mountain Home High School will host its annual I-84 Football Camp July 20-23.

In the past several years the camp has become a camp for eight-man football teams.

"It's one of the more premier eight-man camps around," said Tiger varsity football coach Brian Floyd. "We should have between 10 and 12 teams here, and our freshmen and sophomores will participate in the camp.

"It's kind of fun for them, they get to play an eight-man type of schedule, but football is blocking and tackling, and making sure you've got the correct assignments, so for the freshmen and sophomores, it's still a very good learning experience for them."

Tiger freshmen football coach Rick Suber said football gear will be checked out to the Mountain Home freshmen and sophomores who plan on attending the I-84 Football Camp on July 16 at 6 p.m.

"We will practice from 6-8 p.m. on the 17th, and from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, the 18th, in preparation for the camp," said Coach Suber.

The cost of the camp for Mountain Home students is $35.
