Florence Bybee, 97, of Glenns Ferry passed away at her home on July 2nd, 2009.
Florence was born January 29, 1912 in Boise, Idaho. She was the second of eight children born to Hiram and Nettie Willams.
Florence was married to Lee Bybee in Logan, Utah in 1931. They lived in Horseshoe Bend and Cascade until 1944, when they moved moved to Glenns Ferry where Lee worked as a fireman andengineer on the U.P. Railroad till 1974. Florence worked for the Glenns Ferry school district as a cook for ten years. She was active in the Glenns Ferry Chamber of Commerce for 12 years, serving as secretary and was awarded "Outstanding Citizen of the Year" in 1981.
Florence and Lee were also life members of the LOOM and WOM #1446 in Glenns Ferry.
Florence and Lee raised four sons, Robert (Bob), Gerald (Jerry), Harold (Pete) and Darryl. Florence was preceded in death by her son Jerry and her husband Lee.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Donna Bybee of Glenns Ferry, sons Bob (Olita) of Twin Falls, Pete (Pegi) of Glenns Ferry and Darryl (Mickie) of Anchorage, AK. Ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren as well as many close friends.
