The Optimist cheerleaders were a hit with the crowd at the El Rancho parking lot grandstand.

The 43rd annual Crazee Daze brought a solid turnout of residents from all over Mountain Home to enjoy the various booths and activities.

This year's Crazee Daze was headlined by the carnival, hosted by the Mountain Home Retail Merchant Committee and organized by Royal West Amusements.

Opening last Thursday, this year's carnival was located at Optimist Park and provided the children in attendance with a wide array of rides and games to enjoy.

The carnival rides included bumper cars, the Super Sizzler, Ferris Wheel, Tornado and the favorite for most of the kids at the carnival -- the Kamikaze.

"I loved the Kamikaze, because its so amazing to ride," said 14-year-old Kristina Groespeck.

"The carnival's been really fun, my favorite ride was the Kamikaze, because it turns you upside down," said 12-year-old Jesse Cobos.

The games at the carnival included basketball, pool and several dart games. The prizes for the children included framed pictures and various stuffed animals like giant bananas or monkeys donning different NFL jerseys.

"The turnout was good this year. Hopefully next year it'll be even better and we can find a location downtown," said carnival co-owner Todd Keenan.

On Saturday, throughout Mountain Home, several activities and live entertainment were taking place as well as several sidewalk sales put on by local businesses.
