Tuesday, May 19, 2009

The Mountain Home Public Library is focusing on "Gardening" books during May.

"The library's collection goes beyond the typical books about flower and vegetable gardens," said Librarian Luise House. "The staff are anxious to assist patrons in finding special books that cover the topics of landscaping, greenhouses, rock gardens, water gardens and container gardening. "If you have grown tired on the average terra cotta pot you can find books that will show you how to build plant boxes and other types of containers.

On Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m., Elmore County extension agent Mir Seyedbagheri will speak about organic lawn care. Although the speakers program is designed for adults, a special activity will be provided for children in another part of the library.

The Story Time Club will meet Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The Bilingual Preschool will meet Tuesday, May 19, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Participants in the Spanish 4 Kids program at 4 p.m. that day will continue to improve their Spanish skills using their workshop packets.

Library Little Ones, a lapsit program for toddlers and their parents, will meet on May 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the library meeting room. It will be the last meeting until fall.

For more information on those and other programs at the library call 587-4716 or visit the website at www.mhlibrary.org.
