Encore Co. to use shelter animals for '101 Dalmations'

Thursday, May 14, 2009

MHHS Encore Co. will produce "101 Dalmatians" as its final play of the season.

The show will take place May 14-16 in the MHHS gym at 7 p.m. The story is adapted from the TV Disney animated classic. Pongo finds true love in the park when Anita walks by with her dog Perdita. The happy canine couple become parents shortly thereafter and all is well until Cruella De Vil schemes to steal the puppies to make a dog fur coat with their skins. Curella's flunkies, Jasper and Horus, attempt to carry out her evil plan, but all ends well with the help of Sergeant Tibbs, the cat, and Colonel, the sheepdog.

All proceeds from the play will be donated to the Elmore County Humane Society to help raise funds for food, cleaning supplies, leashes, beds, and other supplies their budget doesn't cover. The show will also feature dogs from the humane society.

The high school's final play of the season is May 14-16.
