Bishop Kelly 0

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and went on to a 10-0 five-inning win over the Lady Knights from Bishop Kelly on Senior Night last Tuesday at Memmelaar Field in Mountain Home.

Charde Huntington and Jennica Quintal both had two hits to lead the Lady Tigers, Huntington knocked in two runs, Quintal, one.

Lindsey Sessions had a hit and two RBIs, and Nickayla Skinner and Madison Siefferman also had hits, Arlene Futch and Courtney Christiansen both had RBIs.

Nickayla Skinner held Bishop Kelly to just two hits while striking out 13 batters to improve to 16-1 on the season.

Lady Tiger softball coach Chris Asbury was pleased with the win.

"It was very nice to send out seniors out undefeated at home this year. It was a very proud moment for those girls, and I'm very appreciative of the seniors putting in all the time over the years."

Emmett 3

Mtn. Home 1

The Lady Tigers closed out their regular season schedule at Emmett last Thursday, coming up short to the Lady Huskies, 3-1.

With the number one seed already clinched, Lady Tiger softball coach Chris Asbury gave back-up pitcher Blas Lord the start and she came through with her best effort of the season. She pitched well enough to win, had she gotten more run support, but except for two hits by Nickayla Skinner, Emmett's McKenna Mattingly kept the Lady Tigers from scoring more than one run, that coming off a single by Skinner that scored Arlene Futch, who had walked, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch.

Blas Lord suffered the loss to drop to 1-4 on the season, but scattered six hits and struck out five, walking three.

"Blas pitched a great game," said Coach Asbury. "We just couldn't get our bats going enough to score some runs. We were making contact against Mattingly, but just not getting the balls in the holes.

"It's nice to know we have Blas ready to pitch and capable of getting the job done. It would have been nice to get the win, but I was more concerned about getting some people some playing time tonight."

The Lady Tigers took a 17-5 overall record into yesterday's District opener against Bishop Kelly, a team they beat twice by 10-0 scores.
