Carol Lee Beaver, 71 of Mountain Home, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2009 at a Boise hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial and celebration of Carol's life will follow at the American Legion Hall, Post 26, located at 515 East Second South.

Carol was the youngest of thirteen children, born to Jim and Susan Westwood on July 23, 1937 in Moab, Utah. Carol enjoyed her childhood living and working on the family ranches in Moab and later in Wells, Nevada. She left the life of a rancher when she meant and married Jack Beaver in 1955. She traded her life of riding horses to traveling the world with her husband and the United States Air Force. Their 33 years together took them around the world from Japan to Germany and countless destinations in the United States, finally making their home in Mountain Home. They were blessed with four children, which also took the ways of their parents and put roots down in all different parts of the world.

Carol loved to spend most of her time in the great outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. Family and friends were important to her and she enjoyed playing games and cooking for all that came by, no one was turned away from her home without a good cup of coffee and a homemade meal.

In 1994, Carol met the second love of her life Harry "Mac" McCoy. Mac soon learned that being with Carol met taking on her four kids and countless grandchildren. They kept each other young by spending time in the outdoors, traveling cross country, and finding each and every new gadget on the market and bringing it home.

Carol will truly be missed by her loving husband Harry McCoy, sons Doug and his wife Essie Mae of Mtn Home, Dennis and his wife Pam of Tampa, FL, daughters Ramona and her husband Jay of Santa Rosa, CA and Brenda and her husband Bob of Korea, four remaining siblings, eight grandchildren; David Lee Kellerman, Trevor Beaver, Megan F. Ehardt, Stacey L. Mendenhall, Jackie C. Mendenhall, Ashlee M. Mendenhall, Christopher Beaver, Shannon Losey, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jack, her parents and eight of her siblings.
