Linda Forrester

Linda L. Forrester, 66, of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009, at a local care center, with her loving daughter Cheri by her side.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Linda was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Ayer, Mass., to Charles and Ella Brown. She lived in Massachusetts, Kentucky, and Germany and settled in New Jersey for about 35 years.

Cheri moved Linda to Mountain Home after Linda became disabled, to be closer and help care for Linda in her ailing years.

Before Linda was disabled she was a loving, determined and hardworking woman, holding down three jobs while raising four children, Bruce, Thomas, Lisa and Cheri, on her own.

She loved animals, especially Chihuahuas. Her kind heart often made her take many of the animals home from the animal clinic where she worked. She rescued many abandoned/abused dogs and cats. She received many awards for her love of animals and dedication to duty.

She is a beautiful person and we will miss her immensely. One of the last things she said to her daughter Cheri, and something we all should live by was, "Do something that matters.²"

Her interest included: caring for animals of all kinds, gardening, reading her tabloid newspaper, bingo, bird watching, feeding her squirrels, swimming, yard sales, family visits and cooking her famous fried chicken and ribs.

Linda is survived by her sons Bruce and his wife Tammy Davis, and Thomas Davis all of New Jersey, her daughters Lisa and her husband Tim Kanoc of New Jersey, and Cheri and her husband Mark Sauerwald of Mountain Home, seven grandchildren; Tiffany Stuart, Heather Davis, Gabrielle Davis, Ashley Zaehringer, Timothy Sauerwald, Timothy Kanoc and Serena Kanoc, two great-grandchildren; Trinity Zaehringer and Jonas Stuart, two brothers; Roger Brown and Jeffery Brown and two sisters; Susan Clark and Nancy Podgorni.

She was preceded in death by both parents.
