...and some people aren't so nice

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Dear editor:

On Thursday morning, 2/5/09, my husband was walking down 6th Street to go to Moxie Java when he slipped on some ice and fell, and not one person stopped to see if he needed assistance.

He waved at a car for help and they chose to keep on driving by.

This is the one day he forgot to take his cell phone with him. He finally was able to get to his feet and hobbled the two blocks to the hospital emergency room where he was told he had a broken foot.

In the past I have seen where people have written to thank someone who assisted them in their time of need. This isn't one of them.

Are people so paranoid that they are afraid to assist someone in need or are they just to busy to stop and help? I sure hope not.
