Letter to the Editor

City needs to get jobs here

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Dear editor:

I would like to reiterate with what Mayor Tom Rist said about backing the city and recreation workers, but nonetheless this not a big issue to be looking at.

I have recently seen lots of empty lots where business's should be. It's very upsetting to me that the staff at city hall have been allowing this to happen. Get out of the past and come back to the future.

The employment rate just keeps dropping here in Mountain Home and they are allowing it to happen. Let's start making a change and allow bigger name companies into Mountain Home. Yes, city hall, you may have some trouble with most companies to agree with what you want but you have to think about the future of this city, not the present.

I know a lot of other people may be reading this letter and may be thinking, yeah, right, in these times like that is going to happen, but there are a lot of companies that are stable enough to create jobs here and keep jobs here as well as bring money into Mountain Home.

So please stop being lazy and start doing something that really needs work.

If I have created any hard feelings with anyone I apologize I did not mean to but I think someone really needs to stand up and say what needs to be done here in Mountain Home. Not only here in Mountain Home but as a country and tell the government what needs to be done and needs to be done fast. God bless America.
