Lady Tigers split final regular season games

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomore girls basketball team ended its regular season schedule with a split of its games last week.

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers dropped a 43-32 sophomore girls basketball game at Bishop Kelly last Tuesday night.

Mountain Home went up 2-0 early on a basket by JaDene Palmer, but fell behind, 12-8, after a quarter. They managed only four points in the second quarter but trailed just 18-12 at the half.

Bishop Kelly increased its lead to 12 midway through the third quarter, but the Lady Tigers cut the deficit to 31-24 heading into the final quarter.

Poor free throw shooting for Mountain Home -- they made just three of 16 free-throw attempts (19 percent) -- kept the Lady Tigers from getting any closer, as the Lady Knights prevailed 43-32.

Jasmyne Moore led the Mountain Home scoring with 10 points, JaDene Palmer and Courtney Christiansen both added eight, Kelly Robins scored four and Courtney Broughton had two points.

Emmett 31

The Lady Tigers closed out their regular season schedule with a 36-31 win over Emmett last Thursday night at home in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

The Lady Tigers trailed 8-6 after a quarter, but gained the lead in the second quarter and led 19-16 at the half.

They maintained their lead throughout the second half, winning 36-31.

Courtney Christiansen led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 14 points, Courtney Broughton added seven, JaDene Palmer netted six, Jasmyne Moore five and Kelly Robins four.

The Lady Tigers took a 9-10 overall and 8-6 conference record into the District III 4A Sophomore Girls Basketball Tournament at Kuna.
