Got enough lockers?

Finding enough lockers for students is one detail the district is looking at when it reorganizes next fall.

Mountain Home High School is now preparing for the new school reorganization plan, in which the ninth grade will move into the high school and Hacker Middle School will only have grades 5 and 6 next fall.

The plan was approved during the last meeting of the Mountain Home School Board.

Currently, the school is looking for the locations for the temporary (and used) double-wide buildings they will be acquiring for extra classrooms at the high school, and identifying the staff needed to fulfill the upcoming move.

According to Mountain Home High School Principal Jeff Johnson, MHHS is acquiring additional external lockers from Hacker Middle School to handle the need for extra lockers.

During the reorganization, the school is expected to bring in several teachers, including two math and two English teachers to help teach the ninth grade.

"It's going to provide a great opportunity for students, who failed a class to take some remedial classes, and I think the curriculum would be better," said Johnson. See the mountainhomenews for the complete story.
