Tiger sophs earn first win, beat Jerome

The Mountain Home Tigers sophomore boys basketball team picked up their first win of the young season, downing the Jerome sophomores 47-35 last Tuesday night at Jerome.

Ricky Castillo hit a trey at the 5:00 mark of the first quarter that put Mountain Home ahead 5-4 and they would never trail the rest of the game.

Mountain Home led 7-4 after a quarter and stretched it to 22-12 at the half. They led 33-24 after three quarters. They upped their lead to 46-27 in the fourth quarter and won 47-35.

Brent Sexauer led Mountain Home in scoring with nine points, James Simon added eight, Ricky Castillo, J.T. Cristobal and Mert Baysal each scored five, Anthony Barbosa and Dakota Ramos both scored four, Enrique Verela, three, Colton Zamora and Justin Connolly each had two points.

The win improved the sophomore Tigers to 1-2 on the season.
