Tigers finest team of young men to play the game

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Dear editor:

Alas! Our football season has finally ended. The mighty Tigers lost to Hillcrest in Idaho Falls Friday night. It was the state semi-finals. I won't say we lost because it was such a great game.

Our Tigers gave their all. They came away without a win but all of them have been winners all year long. This is the finest team of young men I have ever seen play football. They not only cared if they won or lost, they cared about each other and their school and their coaches and all the fans who came to support them.

After every game they would come to the fence's and say "thank you for coming out to support us." From our first game with Jerome to this final game with Hillcrest the fans have increased every game.

To all these fine athletes I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Mountain Home is so proud of you. You have given us a great season of football.

From Kyle and Cody and Juan and Stefan and Junior and Tom and Joshua and Billy and Chris and Logan and Jesse and Tommy and Nick and Curtis and Tallon and Colton and Eric and Tucker and Jacob and Mickel and Mike to James and Adam and Kevin and Tyler and Jesse and Ethan and Joel and David and Devon and Jake and Ricky and Daniel and Matt and Travis and Jacob and Craig and Deon and Josh. YOU ARE WINNERS!

Your lives and the lives of the people you have touched this year are better because of you and your spirit. To all the cheerleaders who so faithfully supported the team and their school--Thank you.

To Head Coach Brian Floyd, we could not have done it without you. Thank you to all your staff--Pete McMillen, Blaine Miller, Mark Hale, Marty Andrews, Tony Kerfoot and John Oliva.

Thanks also to managers Abel Castro and Casey Soboslai who gave so much every night to this wonderful team. Mountain Home is a better place to live because of you. Lastly--Thank you to all of the Mountain Home fans who came out every friday night, rain or shine, and supported this great team.
