The Elmore Medical Center Foundation held its Annual Golf Classic and Silent Auction Aug. 2, raising more that $13,000 for a new colonoscope for the hospital and to support the growing endowment fund.

The event was attended by 121 golfers, playing at Desert Canyon Golf Course. The winning team members were Bob Bennett, Jesse Rodriguez, Bob Henderson, and Mike Grimmett. Second place was awarded to Kevin Bower, Mike Fuller and Phillip Fuller. The third-place team included Richard Valdez, Dick Oak, Danny Pacheco, and Mike Pietrich.

The silent auction portion of the event drew many bidders, both golfers and non-golfers alike. With more than 30 items up for auction, the foundation brought in $2,300. Gift items, certificates and themed baskets were donated by local businesses, supporting community members and Elmore Medical Center staff.

Area businesses and hospital venders sponsor the event each year. Logo sponsors were Blu Med Response Systems, Trinity Mountain Family Practice Physicians Group, Renewable Energy Resources, Turn-Key Medical, Inc, Air St. Luke's, Saint Alphonsus Life Flight, and Hiddleston Drilling & Pump Co.

Gold hole sponsors were Ashcraft & Miller, "B" Transfer, Elmore Medical Center, First American Title Company, Idaho Power, Idaho Emergency Physicians, LPL Financial Services, Moffatt Thomas Barrett Rock & Fields, Professional Hospital Supply, Inc., St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, and Still & Leavitt Insurance Agency.

This year's tournament was supported by 37 Silver sponsors and 44 in-kind donors. Some community members also loaned the use of their personal golf carts for the tournament.

"The Annual Golf Classic would not be nearly as successful without the great group of volunteers who help organize the event and help out all day at the golf course," said Foundation Director Doreen Krabbenhoft. "We are extremely proud of our volunteers. They are the absolute best."
