Lou Burden

Lou Burden, 67, of Mountain Home, died June 19, 2008, peacefully at his home, after a battle with cancer.

At his request no services are planned. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Lou was born March 11, 1941, in Oxford, Neb.

He served in the Army and after his military service he returned to Nebraska to attend college. He relocated to Mountain Home in 1972 and was known as the voice of the local radio station. Later he opened his own business, Flicks Unlimited, then later worked for Mountain Home Redi Mix and House of Flowers.

"Lou never met a stranger and was loved by all who ever met him," his family said. "The past several years of his life he was blessed with the love and companionship of a very special woman, Sandee Judy."

He enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, and his involvement with Camera 8, the local radio station and the Camp Wilson Barbecue.

He is survived by: his longtime companion, Sandee Judy; one brother, Norman Burden of Hillman, Mich.; his son, Kelly Burden of Boise, and his daughter, Erin Burden, of Lady Lake, Fla.

His parents preceded him in death.
