Debbie Kay Laca, 51, of Grand View, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise after a battle with cancer.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 17, at the Dry Creek Cemetery with a viewing prior. Funeral services were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.

"Her family remained at her side until the end, and was strengthened by her faith and courage as she made her journey back to God," her family said.

Debbie was born July 2, 1956, in Pekin, Ill., to Duane Richard Oldencamp and Viola Marie Crofutt.

She worked as an accounting technician for JR Simplot Company for more than 30 years.

"Debbie had an exuberant personality, loved people, and graciously included those around her during good times and bad," her family said. "She even had many 'adopted' children who found solace in her loving nature, generous heart, and calming spirit.

"Debbie remained optimistic throughout her treatment and steadfastly remained comforted by God's will. She continued to be an example to all those around her until the end. Her family and friends will miss her greatly."

Debbie is survived by: her husband, Bernardo; her son, Joseph and his wife, Rhonda; her daughter, Miren Olson and her husband, Dustin, of Kuna; her mother, Carol (Viola) of Illinois; two sisters, Judy Kessler of Colorado and Kitty Borske of Wisconsin; and two brothers, Michael Oldencamp of Illinois and Richard of Washington; three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father.
