Mountain Home Youth Soccer teams wrapped up their league games on Saturday with two teams finishing with a tally in the win column.

The Glenns Ferry U11 Girls beat Middleton Blue 2-1 on scores from Kylee Carpenter and Sam Tveidt.

Coach Patty Villavicencio praised her whole team's improvement in their ball-handling skills and passing during the season and credited Assistant Coach Janae Gennette with helping train the girls this spring.

The win by the Co-Pilot's guaranteed them at least a tie for first place in their division with a 5 -1 -1 record.

Team members include: Josie Bryant, Kylee Carpenter, Roni Crone, Melissa Gum, Sky Gennette, Raegan Grigg, Gabby Hernandez, Anna Orr, Jaycie Shrum, Sam Tveidt, Cassie Villavicencio and Lupita Villavicencio.

The team will prepare for the State Cup Jamboree in Boise at the end of May.

The U16 Boys also finished with a victory that put them in first place in their division with a 5-1 win over McCall Avalanche.

"I challenged the boys to erase last week's dismal performance and this game says volumes about their heart and desire," Coach Jeff Gibbons said. "The defense was as strong as I've ever seem them."

He said outstanding defensive performances came from Kendall Jackson, Chris Hall, Chito Brito, Eric Sweatt, Isaiah Daniels and Brian Raddatz in support of goalie Fernando Salas.

Goals were put in by Tony Crownhart, Alex Martinez (penalty kick), Eloy Guadarrama off of a setup by Jalen Gibbons and Tony Crownhart, and two final tallies from U14 guest player Mike Daniels.

The victory helps set the boys as they prepare for the President's Cup in Twin Falls May 17-18.

The Mountain Home U18 Boys should remain in first place in their division despite losing to Middleton 3-1 on Saturday. The league standings will be tallied this week and United is hoping its 5-2-0 record will keep it at the top of the bracket when all remaining scores are counted.

Mountain Home took the early lead on an Erick Gutierrez goal off an assist from JJ Barroso but could not hold off Middleton's strong offensive attack.

Coach Charles Kistler's U12 Boys also suffered a defeat in Middleton after taking an early 1-0 lead on a goal from Eric Stratton. However Middleton rallied in the second half to win the match 2-1.

The U13 Boys went down to defeat 3-1 to division champ Nampa Kickers, despite grabbing the early lead on a Brad Foreman goal. The evenly matched teams were in a competitive battle that was decided on three penalty kicks awarded to Nampa in the second half. Defender Chance Llewellyn and goalie Jack Richelieu were credited with numerous saves that kept the Tigers in the game.

The U17 Girls watched a 4-0 halftime lead disappear and ended up tying the Capitals Select U16 Girls 4-4.

Scoring for United were Jessica Tindall, Shianna Hawley (2) and Adriana Garcia, with assists credited to Hawley, Erika Castro and Carolyn Hughes.

According to Coach Paul Walsh, other player standouts for the day included Jasmine Deroy at halfback and Fatima Guillen on defense. "All in all, we played well," he said. "We left players unmarked on corner kicks and they took advantage of it. We'll be working on that for our post season play."

The team is expected to play in the President's Cup tournament in Twin Falls.
