Scotts to celebrate 50th

Wendell (Scotty) and Mary Lou Scott will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house at the Carl Miller Park Gazebo in Mountain Home from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.

Friends are invited to a pot luck style luncheon. The event is being hosted by the families of their children, Doris and Steve Roberts of Mountain Home and Bill and Nina Scott of Heyburn. The children are planning on sending them on a second honeymoon to the Oregon coast.

Wendell, who is known by most as Scotty, worked at Cal-gas then Amerigas since 1972 and retired from Amerigas in November 1998. He then worked for the Bruneau Sand Dunes until he got cancer and had to permanently retire due to health reasons.

Mary Lou worked for Conchemco Trailer Factory, Standard Plumbing and did BSU homemakers and personal home care for the elderly for many years. They then moved to Rupert to help take care of a family trailer court.

Wendell graduated in Barnum, Iowa, in 1955, and Mary Lou graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1958.

They have 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
