Dale Jensen

Dale Theodore Jensen, 61, of Glenns Ferry, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Glenns Ferry.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Dale was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, on May 19, 1946. Dale grew up and received his education in Alberta.

He lived and worked all over the world, working on almost every continent in the oil and gas industry.

He and Linda chose to settle in Glenns Ferry, where they worked tirelessly to create the beautiful Lindale Ranch.

"Dale had a great ability to make friends with whom he loved to tease and 'spar' with mentally," his family said.

"He was concerned for others and many were his deeds of true charity. He made lasting friendships among all ages and from all walks of life. He had a great sense of humor and never took himself or others too seriously.

"Dale was without pretense," his family continued, "true to himself, a man of personal integrity always taking responsibility for his own actions. He had a great work ethic and could be found nearly always engaged in a work project.

"Linda was the love of his life and he absolutely adored her. Together they have had many wonderful years. Nothing in this world was more important to Dale than his family. Dale and Linda were great hosts and they welcomed many guests into their home.

"Dale will be sadly missed and fondly remembered," his family said. "It may be said of him, 'that he went about doing good'."

He is survived by: his wife and best friend of 33 years, Linda, of Glenns Ferry; his son, Dale "DJ", and his wife, Amy (Bott) Jensen, of Kimberly; four grandchildren; his brothers, Wayne Jensen, of Magrath, Alberta, Canada, and Richard, and his wife Arvella Jensen, of Caldwell; his sister, Sharlene, and her husband, John Hollingsworth, currently serving a mission for the LDS Church in Monterrey, Mexico; his brother in-law, Bobby, and his wife, Janie Nelson, of Houston, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister-in-law, Mary Jensen.
