Bill L. Campbell, 73, of Mountain Home, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, surrounded by his wife of 38 years, Lois Campbell, and his family and friends.

A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. at the West Wind Club House. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Bill was born in Anselmo, Neb., on Jan. 16, 1935, to Roy and Ruby Campbell. Bill spent most of his childhood in Nebraska and Oregon.

As an adult he became a successful self-employed craftsman in the wood and the logging industries.

Bill loved all outdoor activities, his family noted. "He became a skilled horseman and fisherman, and enjoyed hunting and camping with his family and friends. One continuous pastime he loved was raising roosters for cockfighting.

"Bill was dearly loved and will be missed greatly," they said.

Bill is survived by: his wife, Lois; ten children, including daughters Diane and her husband. KC Rochester. of Battle Mountain, Nev., Vickie Fenn and partner Chuck Gardner of Mountain Home, Billie Jo and her husband, Boo Sanchez, of Mountain Home, Lisa and her husband, Rooster McCullough, of Mountain Home, Kathy Thyne of Hawthorne, Nev., Debbie and her husband, Mark Radloff, of Ogden, Utah, Cindy and her husband, Keith Hammond, of Idaho City, Teresa Trew of Parma, and sons Jerry and his wife, Jennifer Campbell, of Battle Mountain, Nev., and Roy and his wife, Angie Campbell, of Battle Mountain, Nev.; his sister, Sharon, and her husband, Darrell Roth, of Florida; his brothers, Richard "Dick" Campbell of South Dakota and Larry "Old Goat" Remington of Battle Mountain, Nev.; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Vivian Mecham, and a grandchild, Robin Moss.
