Wednesday, November 28, 2007

Winning close ball games seem to be the norm for the Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomore girls basketball team, as they won their third close game of the season, edging Bishop Kelly 27-26.

All three of their wins have been by one point.

Mountain Home trailed the Lady Knight sophomores, 8-6, after a quarter, but the buzzer sounded ending the first half with the score knotted at 14-14. Mountain Home went into the final quarter up by one, 20-19, and both teams scored seven points in the final eight minutes, as the Lady Tigers held on for a 27-26 win.

Alex Schmidt led the way with seven points, Rachel Warilla and Fatima Guillen both added six, and Arlene Futch and Lindsay Sessions each scored four.

The Lady Tigers sophomores return to action this afternoon at Nampa for a 4:30 p.m. game.

They host Jerome Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
