Letter to the Editor

No prayer in school right, but too bad

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

Dear editor:

I agree with Pen A. Bidwell in his letter to the editor in the Nov. 21 edition. I agree with letter entitled "Religion not appropriate for subject in schools.

However, I think a person's religion should be respected. I think parents should teach a child there is a supreme being that they can pray to. I do not think a person should be, as Pen said, forced brainwashed. They should just be taught that they can pray and ask God what is right.

They need this knowledge in order to be able to choose what they want later as an adult.

Religion cannot be taught in the schools because like Pen says there are so many. Years ago school would begin with a prayer but only private schools can do that now. It is too bad.
