Walt Tulloch

Walter "Walt" E. Tulloch, 72, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at a Boise hospital.

Funeral services were held following a viewing on Friday, Nov. 16, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.

Walt was born at home on a Tennessee farm to Glen and Lucille Tulloch, on March 23, 1935, along with his twin sister, Betty. He was a boy who walked miles to school whether the sun was shining or it was raining or snowing, his family said.

Upon completion of high school, Walt enlisted in the US Air Force and was a Weapons Maintenance Supervisor/Ammunitions Inspector. His 23 years of service was spent at numerous stateside bases, four years in Germany, two years in Thailand, and one year in Korea.

Walt married June Moniz and they had two sons, Glen and Jeff.

After retiring from the Air Force, Walt spent a few years selling cars with "Ole" Olsen. "Since he wasn't a big talker, he didn't sell too many cars," his family said, "however, he always said what he meant and meant what he said."

He later spent several years selling insurance and then joined Jerry Mason in co-managing the Mountain Home golf course, where he continued to work after a professional was hired.

Walt enjoyed golfing and watching football, but his favorite past time was fishing with his best friends, Mickie Cockrell and William Ferguson, "whether he caught a fish or not."

"He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all," his family said.

Walt is survived by: his wife, June Tulloch; his son, Glen, of Mountain Home; his son, Jeff, and his wife, Elke Tulloch, of Boise; his brothers, Bill Tulloch of Tennessee and Darrell Tulloch of Virginia; his sister, Virginia Caldwell, of Georgia; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carolyn Wicker, and his twin sister, Betty Tulloch.

Donations can be made in Walt's memory to the American Cancer Society, 2676 S. Vista, Boise, ID 83705.
