Capt.Kenneth Juhl has been selected as the MOAA Company Grade Officer of the Year for 2007.

The award was presented by the The Rattlesnake Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), during its annual awards dinner Nov. 2nd at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Gunfighter Club.

Capt. Juhl is currently assigned to the 391st Fighter Squadron as the Standardization and Evaluation Officer. He recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan with his squadron, the first time that any F-15E aircraft had been deployed to Afghanistan.

Col. Mark Kelly, the 366 Fighter Wing Vice Commander, was the guest speaker at the banquet.

MOAA meetings are held at noon the second Saturday of each month at Carlos' restaurant.

The event was attended by the members of the Rattlesnake Chapter of the MOAA, distinguished guests from Mountain Home and Glenns Ferry, along with group commanders, squadron commanders and friends of the nominees.

The MOAA is a non-profit organization, operated exclusively for purposes "beneficial to the interest of the nation and its Uniformed Services personnel, their families, and survivors." It advocates military forces adequate to the defense of the country.

Each year the chapter recognizes a Company Grade Officer of the Year and this year they sponsored a scholarship for a high school student.
