Lady Tigers open hoop season Friday

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers open their 2007-2008 girls basketball season Friday night at home against Timberline.

Brent Keener takes over the Mountain Home girls varsity program this year, moving over after coaching the boys JV team for a number of years. Keener indicated they had 53 girls turn out for girls basketball from grades nine through 12.

Of those, Keener has 10 on his varsity squad, including five returning seniors. Keener thinks they are quickly learning his system.

"Having all the girls play this summer quite a bit definitely helped. We want to try and get a few more things in this week because we don't have much time before our first game."

The Lady Tigers will play in a Jamboree at Glenns Ferry on Thursday night, and open their season Friday night at home against Timberline.

Sophomore action gets under way at 4:30 p.m., JV action at 6 p.m., and the varsity game is scheduled to tip off at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday night.
