GF schools take Christ out of Christmas

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Dear editor:

Imagine if you will that you are entering a school program designed to honor one of the most sacred of holidays, that of Christmas. It surprises you at first because no one is wishing any other one Merry Christmas, no one is smiling with the joy of the season and for sure, no one is mentioning the reason we celebrate this wonderful time, namely the birth of Jesus Christ who entered this world on this very special night for a very special reason.

You notice that the young voices on stage do not sing or speak the name God, or Jesus and no one holds a cross or any other sign of the season. Now, ask yourself where you are. New York, California in the depths of San Francisco? No sir, you are in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, where all mention of God is being removed from the Christmas musical and why? So we do not offend maybe one or two who do not believe.

Personally, I do care if you believe or not, mainly because my life has become centered around God and His greatness. I want all to experience the joy of life with Christ as the center piece. Certainly He brings a peace to all at this time.

Parents, wake up and take your schools back. The majority is now the minority and forced to take whatever rules the minority comes up with. Believe, have faith, keep God in front of our schools, not just at Christmas, but every day.
