Letter to the Editor

Rist will restore unity to city hall

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

Dear editor:

I was very impressed by Kelly Everitt's editorial in the Oct. 24 edition of the paper.

He said things that needed to be said regarding the present situation between the mayor and the city council and his curtailing of the democratic process. This democratic process is the foundation of this country and provides the checks and balances needed so that government represents the people.

It's time for a change and Tom Rist is a man who follows the rules. Tom listens to all the people in this community and works hard to try to implement changes necessary for public good. He brings those ideas to the city council with enthusiasm and determination but implements those ideas through due process, not by overriding the system.

During his many years on the city council, Tom Rist has demonstrated that he has taken this position seriously and shown his work ethic in his attendance to innumerable meetings and functions. To say that Tom Rist works hard for this community would be an understatement.

Join me in voting for Tom Rist, a sincere and devoted advocate for this community.
