Girls soccer team bows out early at district tournament

A successful soccer season for the Mountain Home Lady Tigers came to a premature end at the District III 4A Girls Soccer Tournament at Kuna last week.

The Lady Tigers went out of the tourney in three games.

Middleton 3

Lady Tigers 3

The fourth-seeded Lady Tigers opened against number five seed, Middleton last Monday, and battled to a 3-3 tie through regulation and overtime, setting up a shootout. Middleton won the shootout, 4-3, to advance in the winners bracket.

Shianna Hawley had two goals and an assist, and Sherica Holmon also scored a goal. Angie Rios had eight saves on goal.

Lady Tigers 4

Nampa 0

The loss to Middleton put the Lady Tigers against Nampa in a loser-out game last Tuesday. Mountain Home took care of the Lady Bulldogs, 4-0.

Emmett 3

Lady Tigers 0

After beating Nampa, the Lady Tigers faced Emmett last Wednesday, and fell to the Lady Huskies, 3-0, to be eliminated from the district tourney.

The Lady Tigers finished 10-7-2 overall.
