Boys soccer goes three and out

The Mountain Home Tigers played some of their best soccer at the District III 4A Boys Soccer Tournament, but saw their season end after three tough games.

Bishop Kelly 1

Mtn. Home 1

The Tigers opened the District Tourney against Bishop Kelly, and battled them even through regulation and overtime, tied at 1-1.

Then came the shootout, and Bishop Kelly out shot the Tigers, 4-3, for the win last Monday at Bishop Kelly.

Daniel Snelgrow scored Mountain Home's goal off an assist by Jesus Vasquez. Christian Figueroa had seven saves on goal.

Kuna 1

The loss to Bishop Kelly put the Tigers against Kuna in a loser-out game last Tuesday, and Mountain Home got goals from Bryan Walsh and Jesus Vasquez for a 2-1 win over the Kavemen. Greg Walsh had an assist and Christian Figueroa had seven saves on goal.

Columbia 1

Mtn. Home 0

(Overtime)

The win over Kuna put the Tigers against Columbia on Wednesday to see who would play for third place on Thursday.

The two teams battled to a scoreless tie through regulation, but Columbia managed a score in overtime for the win.

Christian Figueroa had five saves on goal for the Tigers, who finished the season 8-8-3 overall.
