The Mountain Home Tigers scored early and often, building up a 4-0 lead at halftime, as they downed the Nampa Bulldogs, 5-0, in conference boys soccer Tuesday at Eastside Park.

Daniel Snelgrow scored two goals, Christian Adamson, Bryan Walsh and Jesus Vasquez also had goals. Bryan Walsh had three assists.

"The guys came out and played hard!" said Mountain Home Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh. "Nampa was missing a couple guys, but we really controlled pretty much from start to finish, and we really took it to them. The kids played great!"

Tigers 4

Kuna 1

Mountain Home broke out from a scoreless first half to down the Kuna Kavemen, 4-1, last Wednesday at Kuna.

Christian Figueroa had nine saves on goal.

"Kuna played us really tough in the first half and we kind of got out of our game rhythm, and I talked to them at half-time and said, 'Hey guys, Kuna isn't going to just roll over for us, we've got to play our game,' and they definitely went out in the second half and really executed. It was a good second half for us!"

The District III 4A Boys Soccer Tournament began Monday (Oct. 8) at Bishop Kelly and Middleton. The Tigers finished 6-6-2 in conference, which gave them the number four seed. They opened against Bishop Kelly at Bishop Kelly. Coach Walsh said they were looking forward to facing the Knights again, after losing, 1-0, to them the week before in a game they dominated. "We're really psyched for the re-match. We know we can definitely play with those guys, and we feel really good about our chances, and the guys are really pumped up. They want to avenge that 1-0 loss, so we're looking forward to it."

The district tourney concludes Thursday with the third-place and championship games at Bishop Kelly, with the top three teams advancing to state.
