Members of the Mountain Home Police Department on scene of a drug bust.

Neighbors in the south area of Mountain Home were somewhat surprised Tuesday evening when a special operations team with the Mountain Home Police Department conducted a drug raid and arrested seven adults and one juvenile for a variety of drug-related charges.

"I have lived here about six months and have often thought that there was something suspicious about the people coming and going over there...most of them stopping by for a few minutes and then leaving" said one Air Force neighbor.

The special investigations unit of the police department has been conducting a four month investigation on allegations of distribution and selling of illegal narcotics at the residence in the 600 block of Brookside Court.

In a prepared statement, interim Police Chief Julee Bunderson said, "It was a community effort and involvement that brought this illegal operation to a halt. The citizens of our community are sending a message that drug activity will not be tolerated and such activity will be stopped to ensure the safety and quality of life for the citizens of Mountain Home."

The names of the adults arrested in the raid included 32-year old Christopher Swank, 19-year old Kristin Knauber, 18-year old Rebecca Soboslai, 29-year old Clayton Ealy, 20-year old Erihn Anderson, 23-year old Joshua Loader, 22-year old Jennifer Wolcott and a 17-year old juvenile.

An undisclosed amount of marijuana, pharmaceutical drugs, and drug paraphernalia was seized in the raid.

There were several people involved in the narcotics search warrant. OSI from the military base assisted in the investigation and search while the Mountain Home Fire Department and Northwest Paramedics were there to ensure the safety of the citizens.

If anyone has information about this incident or other tips to report to the police, contact Lt. Jesse Cobos at 587-2101 ext 211.

  • Please keep in mind when viewing this photo, the cream colored house that unfortunately, appeared in the photo most noticeable. IS NOT THE HOUSE that had been raided. Thank you, concerned owner!

  • DITTO!! Txplnt......It is nice to see that our law enforcement officers are on top of things. This was such a vigilanty force before Ex Chief Berry took over. He moved it from a group of "because I have the power" officers to ones that (for the most part) actually care about the safety of this town. Thank God there are but a few of those people left and for the most part all have retired or moved on. Thanks to his leadership we now have a force that can do what these officers did do it in a professional manner. They seem to have spent the time investigating, and moved in and removed a cancer without event. Congratulations to all involved in this project. I feel a little safer now. Thank you for caring too!

  • What ever happened to those arrested in the Operation Sudden Impact raid last December? We never hear about convictions, only arrests.
